- "New Lander" comes from the New Lander mine in Lander County, Nevada, and is a highly prized and sought after material. It is primarily composed of Chalcosiderite and Variscite, not Turquoise, but occurs in deposits alongside Turquoise and has a similar chemical composition, so is considered to be part of the "Turquoise family." Prized for its unique spiderweb patterns and contrasting colors, this material can only be found in a few small deposits in the US, making it a prized stone by collectors of American mined minerals.
